I handle my own equipment, and as long as you are getting inspiring tones out of me, it might not matter to you what I'm using to get those sounds BUT if you are interested to know:
- I use a variety of guitars, which can cover almost every style of music. I primarily play Fender Stratocasters with a variety of pickups installed but also play Gibson Les Paul, Fender Telecaster and Suhr Classic Pro guitars.
- I have an extensive range of high quality effects that are readily switchable for a varied live set and a comprehensive array of sounds for the studio.
- I won't impose 'my new favourite pedal' on your music (only to hear the track date badly in no time) - I will listen carefully, to you and your music, and choose the right tool for the job.
- I have guitar amplifiers that put out 5W, 10W, 15W, 30W, 45W, 90W and 100W of power, both through a single 12 combo, single 12 cab or a variety of 2x12 cabs, both open and closed back. Small venues, studios and larger venues are all catered for. I can warmly fill a small venue or pack some wallop if need be. V30s, Mesa Black Shadows, Creambacks and Alnico Golds cover many voicings and positions in a live or studio mix.
- I use EL34, 6L6, EL84 and 5881 based amplifiers, providing a wide range of primary tones. British and US tones are all available. Vintage and modern sounds are covered, as are all levels of gain (except metal. Nothing against it - I just don't pretend to play it).
- I use only the highest quality effects, power supplies and connections. My live and studio setup runs with an extremely good signal to noise ratio.
- For venues with significant RF interference, I use high quality noise gates &/or have guitars with noiseless pickup systems installed.
